The Federal Bureau of Prisons in Coleman Florida is seeking four (4) Dental Assistant to work on a full time contract, providing Dental Assistant Services.  Each Dental Assistant will provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC), located in Coleman, Florida.

Schedule:

These services will normally consist of six (6), one (1) hour sessions per day, Monday through
Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, with a
thirty to sixty minute unpaid lunch period, (if applicable). The facility is expected to require an
average of 30 sessions per week. The schedule shall not exceed thirty (30) hours per week for an
individual.
 
The Contractor(s) will perform chair-side dental assistance in the following dental disciplines:
operative, prosthetics, endodontic, periodontics, radiology, and oral surgery. Sterilization and
disinfection techniques of instruments will be required, as well as, administrative functions, such
as, filing, scheduling appointments, and inventorying supplies.
 
The Contractor(s) shall be totally familiar with four-handed dentistry with respect to all technical
methods and procedures as practiced at this institution. He/she must also have an excellent
working knowledge of instruments, types of restorative materials and methods used for the
purpose of making impressions. The Contractor(s) must have knowledge of oral and dental
anatomy and must be able to chart the intra-oral findings. In addition to the above, the
Contractor(s) will be required to assist the staff Dentist with oral surgery, operative procedures,
prosthetics, radiology, endodontic, preventive, and clerical duties.
 
Qualifications
 
Florida state license as a Dental Assistant; have Radiology Certification; be certified in Cardio-
Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart
Association; and one (1) year work experience involving dental radiology; and have 18 months
of work experience as a Dental Assistant or Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American
Dental Associations= Commission on accreditation, including courses in radiation physics;
radiation biology, radiation health, safety and protection, x-ray films and radiographic film
quality, radiographic techniques, dark room and processing techniques, and film mounting.ust have a
Florida state license as a Dental Assistant; have Radiology Certification; be certified in Cardio-
